Newsletter June 2005

Dear Supporters,

Blessings to God, I am currently in Caceres, Spain. Here I am continuing my discipleship training but in a practical environment under the leadership of Pastor Prince Parker. Caceres is a city that is in desperate need for the Gospel. There are over 120,000 people here but only three Gospel believing churches, which totals to about 160 people. And those church members most are immigrants, the majority from Latin America. Many Spaniards have turned away from religion as a whole because of mistrust of the Catholics. Our job here is to teach the Gospel and train others to do the same. From the present state it would appear that we have a long way to go, but with God soon we will be sending people from here to reach the rest of the world.

As a result of prayer, God has made many opportunities available to us just in the short time that I have been here. One great blessing was that a gentleman, who had not been to any of our services before, was impressed by what the church was doing for the community. So the following week this gentleman bought a sign, we could not otherwise afford, for the new building we are renting. Even further this gentleman, now a member introduced Pastor Prince to a local community leader who wants to see some revival in her neighborhood. She has given Pastor Prince full access to the recreation center in her community. On a tour of the center the official asked Prince, “What can you do with this place?” Saints, this is an amazing opportunity. This public official has almost literally opened the doors of her community to God. How many times does that happen? Pray that we are able to make the most of this opportunity and that God provides all the financial support necessary to make it happen. As result of Prince’s relationship with the official, members of our church here are receiving help with residency papers. Some of the men do not have jobs because of their immigrant status; this will aid them in getting employment here in Spain. There are a number of awesome things happening here pray that God continues the work.

While here in Caceres I am aiding in the youth ministry. The other ministry I am deeply involved with is the development of an English class that will be used as an outreach ministry in the church. The things that I am learning here will better prepare me for the field in Africa.

Continue to keep me in your prayer. In May, my support dropped very low. Remember and remind others that the work being done on the mission field is a collective effort. If the Church, the body of collective individuals were not behind the ministry of God then I would not have the freedom to work in the harvest. Because we are partners in the Great Commission continue with me to get the word spread about missions.

A heavy burden has been laid on my heart, together we must remind our brothers and sisters in Christ that the supreme business of the Church is to preach the Gospel and make disciples of every nation. Jesus encouraged his disciples to pray to the Lord of the harvest, asking Him to thrust laborers into the whiten fields. I am doing the same. Together lets pray and actively work to support missions and make it once again the main agenda of the Church.
